• A conical security ring surrounds the nut with precision. Only the original Pit key fits between the parts, with just the right amount of pressure.

Additional elements such as a teflon disc prevent cold welding of the metal parts. The pressure disc allows the security ring to spin freely if force is applied from the outside – making pliers or leverage tools ineffective.

A bit like a childproof medicine cap

To unlock the system, the Pit key must be pressed in. Only then does the spring washer release the coded nut, allowing it to turn. It is a simple but effective idea, similar to childproof lids on medicine bottles – press, then turn.
