Anyone looking for easy targets like quick-release wheels or saddle clamps will most likely just walk past a properly secured Pitlock bike.

The idea: A moment in front of Karstadt in Berlin

The idea for Pitlock was born when our founder Peter Busse witnessed someone in the early 90s locking their bike with two heavy U-locks – but still taking the saddle into the store.
Why?
Because the saddle was mounted with a quick-release clamp. And if you want to keep it, you better take it with you.

That’s when the idea came up to develop a compact, clever and coded solution. Something that protects these vulnerable parts. Easy to install, but effective.

Sure, brute force always works

Yes, you can crack a Pitlock system – with the right tools, enough time, and ideally no one watching.
But in reality, that’s extremely unlikely. At least as long as your bike isn’t left unattended in public for days.
